SDCEDC was formed for the purpose of promoting education and professional growth of its members in management techniques and principles of economic, industrial and community development. SDCEDC serves as a forum for the analysis and advocacy of issues and programs affecting the business climate in South Dakota and the communication of its positions with South Dakota's state and local leaders.
US Chamber Institute and Economic Development Institute Scholarship Brochure and Scholarship Application -- The application for must be downloaded, completed and returned by email (maryanneb@sdchamber.biz), fax (605-224-7198) or mail (SDCEDC, PO Box 1056, Pierre, SD 57501).
SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
SDCEDC members may receive only one scholarship during a calendar year. (Further conditions apply.) Members may apply for $500 scholarships to attend any professional training opportunity so long as it is recognized as a prerequisite in becoming a Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) or a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD). Members may also apply for $100 scholarships to attend SDCEDC Conferences (two scholarships available per conference.)
Up to three $500 scholarships are awarded at the spring and winter conferences. They are offered based on the size of operational budgets.
Effective December 2015, the following operational budget formula shall apply.
- Less than or equal to $300,000: May apply for a scholarship during each year of the designated program per individual/organization.
- $300,001 to $750,000: May apply for a scholarship for two years of the designated program per individual/organization.
- $750,001 and greater: May apply for one year of the designated program per individual/organization.
- Scholarship recipients will be required to report on their training experience at the earliest possible conference either in person or by phone.
