SD Chamber of Commerce Executives (CCE) Conference
9:30 AM to 3 PM (CDT)
Wednesday, September 27, 2023
Members of the South Dakota Chamber of Commerce Executives (SD CCE) Task Force are pleased to announce the inaugural fall conference.
The agenda for this one-day conference will include topics related to common community and not-for-profit organizational issues including, but not limited to, community childcare, non-dues income, and membership sales. The format will be a combination of formal presentations and moderated roundtable discussions.
As the final stage of transitioning from the former chamber and economic development structure to a chamber of commerce focus, the membership will also discuss and vote on organizational issues such as revised bylaws, mission statement, membership dues structure and continued development of the CCE group.
PRESENTATIONS
Engaging Your Board
Ideally, your board will be well-rounded, inspired, and working toward the mission of
your organization in partnership with staff and volunteers. Achieving this ideal scenario
takes work and commitment on both sides, but is very possible.
It’s likely your board members understand their legal, financial and leadership roles, but
are they helping with fundraising and outreach? Do you feel confident that you have
made the most of their skills, expertise, and time?
In this session we’ll cover how to get the support you need out of your board, and lead
them to re-engage with your mission, understand their role, turn up to meetings, help
at events, do outreach, and even fundraise. The session will include best practice tools
you can use to implement changes and new ideas right away.
