Description
With input from business leaders, young professionals and educators, this year’s Economic Outlook Seminar will be drastically different from past events. The timeline has been condensed, the number of speakers reduced and the seminar will establish benchmarks for comparison during future events.
The South Dakota Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s annual Economic Outlook Seminar will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Country Club of Sioux Falls, located at 3400 W 22nd Street. The event will run from 4 – 6 PM.
The focus is on providing top quality speakers presenting concise information in an interesting format. The event will start at 4 PM with a networking opportunity for attendees to meet the speakers, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and beverages. Presentations begin at 4:30 PM.
The seminar will feature only two speakers, starting with a presentation by Aaron Wiese, Vice President Strategy & Innovation from HyVee on corporate efforts to anticipate and meet the future demands of their consumers. Our keynote speaker will be Ernie Goss, Ph.D., MacAllister Chair & Professor of Economics from Creighton University, providing background information on the most important aspects of the regional economy and offering projections on current economic indicators. Future events will include a review of projections, tracking both the successful and missed predictions.
There will be a $30 registration fee which includes heavy hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. Registration deadline is Monday, November 6th. Registration details appear on our website www.sdchamber.biz under Special Events. The Economic Outlook event is open to the public.
Fred Slunecka, Chief Operating Officer, Avera Health and Founding Chairman of the Economic Outlook Seminar program, stated “Providing quality speakers on important topics fits the South Dakota Chamber’s mission to serve its members, as well as the statewide business community.” Slunecka is also a past chair of the South Dakota Chamber Board of Directors.
