Description
Mark your calendar for the first Tuesday in October for the 2019 South Dakota Chamber Economic Outlook Seminar.
We will highlight the "Past, Present and Future" of Smithfield Foods in Sioux Falls. The CEO and executive team will be present.
Jodi Schwan, SiouxFalls.Business, will serve as moderator and will present the results of her quarterly business survey.
The highlighted business segment will include a presentation by Smithfield Foods, Inc. President and CEO Ken Sullivan. Sullivan will focus on the present day facts of the Smithfield operation, followed by a panel discussion of the past and future of the company in Sioux Falls. Members of the panel will be: Sullivan, President and CEO and Mark Wiggs, Plant Manager, Sioux Falls.
We are pleased to announce that Governor Kristi Noem will address the audience prior to the Smithfield presentation and will introduce Mr. Sullivan.
The annual seminar will also feature economic speaker Joseph Santos, Ph.D., Dykhouse Scholar in Money, Banking and Regulation and Coordinator of Graduate Studies, Ness School of Management and Economics, South Dakota State University. Dr. Santos will talk about the South Dakota economy and the impact of tariffs.
